Over the years, I feel like the ways that I enjoy the game have changed from the initial "oh I can barely solo this mission, I have to pay attention to every second otherwise I'll be owned by a bombard or a tech" to "hey these mods make my frame do cool things" to finally "do xyz and commit genocide at any level."
That's not to say that I haven't been enjoying the game, but it's shifted and I've gotten pretty comfortable. Now, with Duviri, I have to learn new combat skills, and it feels like if I die it's because of something I can overcome with more skill, not just because I let shatter shield drop for two seconds. I know there are calls for making it easier to work your builds, and I get that... But right now I'm really enjoying having to choose between mediocre weapons or frames and then being given the chance to make the loadout sing.
Exploring Duviri is like exploring the tileset for the first time; there are mysteries to unlock and puzzles to solve. I feel like the previous open world areas didn't do as well in that particular regard.
It's not perfect, but I think everyone at DE should be proud of their work on this one. Thanks for the thousands of hours of enjoyment you've given me, and here's to the next ten years!
