A lot of people have brought up the range, cooldown, etc. and whilst I agree I mostly want to talk about how it marks things you have already scanned that your team hasn't.
Also when you use it again and there's something that was already marked it'll get marked twice. For example it can show a previously marked cephalon fragment through a doorway and after using it again it'll say there's two things in that direction but when you get to the fragment it'll be the only thing there.
I know it uses a similar mechanic to players marking an item, in which case it'll be marked for you too even if you've scanned it, so that's why the air support marks it for you anyway but it's so frustrating.
I've found almost all Kuria and scanned every fragment so when it comes to searching for the last few things or maybe looking for sculptures in public games, I'm constantly being led to things I've already scanned.
I have golden instinct but that's just a slow but sure way to do it so I don't like to have to resort to doing that.
I do also want to bring up the range and cooldown.
I don't mind the cooldown if the range was a little bigger or if it marked everything on the map for a few minutes instead because comparing it to other end game air support that you earn like calling in Kahl, with the intrinsics you can have 100% uptime on it if he doesn't die and if he's still there then using it again adds another teammate on top of what was already there.
I'm not sure when you get either from just a progression standpoint because I already had everything then went for both when they released but Orokin Eye seems a bit tedious even in the best case scenario, especially when most missions are done in less than 5 minutes and half of the endless ones are on a small tile like defenses and interceptions. And you'd have to wait around of 15 or 20 minutes to be able to use Orokin Eye a couple times to cover a whole map. For exterminate, capture, survivals you farm for resources or rewards, normally don't take long unless you specifically want a rotation C thing and stay for that long but that's the best case scenario.
You could put together and team of everyone using Orokin Eye and using them at different points of the map but almost every player would never do that just to hunt for a few things they haven't scanned. Orokin Eye mostly just needs a QOL update.
Even if all they did was not mark things for you that already have a scanned then I'd be satisfied but in my opinion it needs a bit of a buff overall
