Solo Steel Path without Arcane Energize

I've been trying to use warframes besides Gauss and Titania in steel path because I'm really struggling with the defense missions (and I want to play something fresh). I prefer to play solo. So I've been looking up builds all over, and I'm extremely frustrated when the build claims to be "easy to make" but includes a max rank arcane energize.

I tried making my own build with mag using shield gating, but kept running out of energy.

Is it impossible for some warframes to do steel path without arcane energize? I own almost all of them, and have 40 forma, but can't seem to make good solo defense build that I enjoy playing. Any recommendations?
