Are necramechs worth it?

I just got my first voidrig today and I'm not sure, if it can ever be more useful than my Warframes. I'm mr13 and i got it just to do the new war quest. What are necramechs good for after the completion of the new war? Also what archgun would you recommend to me, i use imperator vandal right now but it's not even lvl 30 and i have only a few archgun mods because i don't like the missions, so I have no damage. So far I have been completely useless as necramech.
