This is probably the most irritatingly missed marks of a gameplay mechanic I have ever encountered in any game ever. Yanto makes is pretty clear that the idea behind her from a design perspective was to punish players for wandering off from the group when the objective needs to be focused on... But in practice, the group is MOSTLY distracted by fighting the Angel, shooting mobs, following ghost kids etc so that the one targeted for "straggling" is THE ONLY ONE ON THE TEAM ACTUALLY DOING THE OBJECTIVE. It's hard enough to fill the rifts up without the team's help, seeing that the game is now about to take all my energy and glue away is basically a guaranteed mission fail and a total keyboard flip moment. They couldn't, maybe, have had the kid only spawn on people a certain distance AWAY from the objective?
