I love Warframe. I hate Warframe.
Both statements are universally true.
With 3600 hours on Steam and god knows how many more on their native launcher, I think Warframe has got the best movement in any game I've played. If you're not bothered by the meta, the sheer variety of gameplay options is astounding. Almost every one of the 47 Warframes (except Nyx) can clear the hardest content in the game (which isn't very hard) & Going off wanna_b's list, at least 42 Primaries, 33 Secondaries, and 46 melee weapons are decently powerful. Many more if you're willing to invest in Rivens. There is likely something that suits your playstyle or speaks to you aesthetically. Don't even get me started about the Helminth system where you can mix and match some abilities between Warframes.
Which brings me to the part where you will be farming for all of these options and the resources to build them, even if its just try them out and see if it 'clicks' with you. There is a reason why a lot of people mention they've got 1000+ hours in Warframe, many of which burn out from the grind.
My advice for anyone picking up the game for the first time is to clear the Starchart & associated quests FIRST and see how you feel about grinding/leveling new weapons and content. There is a tendency for Warframe players to hate-play so keep that in mind and drop the game when it stops being fun. You can always come back later if you feel like it. Don't end up like a lot of us who forgot to have fun while chasing the next content grind.
I think a lot of people don't get, even a lot of veterans, is that Warframe is designed around lateral progression, not vertical progression like most people are used to (ala the MMO formula of end-game content, only accessible at level cap, typically raids). By design, the end-game a lot of players are looking for will NEVER exist, only an ever increasing amount of content to do. So the grind is indeed truly eternal until DE decides that they're finished their work on the game. This is not a bad thing to me, because I love what they're doing and can't wait to see what they do next. But the amount of toxicity I've seen surrounding this is sobering.
copied from a youtube comment I left (of all things) because I got...a bit carried away while watching a 'Should you Play' video and discovered I needed to vent into the void.
